From Hyde to the Premier League: Everton's Ndiaye's Journey.

Everton's new signing, Iliman Ndiaye, always believed he would make it to the Premier League, even during his brief time in non-league football.

Ndiaye, 24, joined Everton this summer for around £15m after a challenging season with Marseille, where he scored just three goals. He returns to England following a successful stint with Sheffield United, helping them gain promotion from the Championship in 2022-23.

Ndiaye also spent time on loan at Hyde United in the Northern Premier League four years ago.

Reflecting on his time at Hyde, Ndiaye told BBC Sport, "I enjoyed my spell there, even though it was cut short by Covid. It was my first experience in senior football, and I learned a lot playing alongside seasoned professionals. The loan at Hyde was a valuable step in my journey, not a setback. I love playing football, and it was a crucial step towards reaching the top."
