From Danish Engineer to GB Cyclist: Bigham's Olympic Journey.

Three years ago, Dan Bigham was at the Tokyo Olympics. Instead of racing in a skin suit alongside his former Great Britain teammates, he was there as a performance engineer for Denmark.

He thought his days as a GB track cyclist were over. Faced with choosing between cycling and engineering, Bigham chose his biggest passion: engineering.

But now, he's gearing up for another Olympic Games. This time, in Paris, he'll compete in the red, white, and blue of Team GB.

"If you'd told me at the last Olympics that I could win a medal at the next one, I'd have said, 'I'm not even going to be there,'" Bigham, 32, told BBC Sport.

"It's amazing what a few years can bring. There were times I thought maybe I should just be an engineer, get a normal job. But I've always strived to connect as many dots as I can, keep moving forward. Now, here I am, heading to the Paris Olympics. A few years ago, I wouldn't have imagined this path."
