Fritz Breaks 15-Year Drought for American Men in Grand Slam Finals.

Taylor Fritz became the first American man in 15 years to reach a Grand Slam singles final, defeating fellow American Frances Tiafoe in a five-set US Open showdown.

Fritz rallied to defeat his close friend Tiafoe 4-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 in a night match in New York.

Andy Roddick was the last American man to win a major singles title, winning the US Open in 2003. He also holds the record as the last American to reach a Grand Slam final at Wimbledon in 2009 and the US Open final in 2006.
