Torquay United's defender Austen Booth received a nine-month ban for violating football's betting regulations.
The 26-year-old confessed to placing 289 bets on football matches over a span of nearly four years, from August 5, 2017, to July 7, 2021.
During this period, he played for clubs like Truro City, Buckland Athletic, and Tiverton Town, all in the lower tiers of English football.
It’s important to note that players in the top eight tiers of English football are strictly prohibited from betting on any matches.
