Fire Secure Knockout Spot with Victory Over Brave.

Hayley Matthews shone with both bat and ball as Welsh Fire clinched a knockout spot in the women’s Hundred, defeating Southern Brave by nine wickets.

Matthews dazzled with 4-14, dismissing Southern Brave for just 103. She then scored an unbeaten 35 off 26 balls, helping Welsh Fire secure a win with 26 balls to spare.

Fire captain Tammy Beaumont led with a blistering unbeaten 59 from 40 balls, including 10 fours.

Southern Brave struggled, falling to 15-3 and 47-7, despite Jess Jonassen’s 3-21. Chloe Tryon was the standout performer for Brave with 55 off 38 balls.

Fire will top the group and advance directly to the final if Oval Invincibles lose to Trent Rockets on Wednesday.

If Invincibles win, they must do so by a large margin to surpass Fire’s net run rate and avoid the eliminator.
