FIFA and UEFA suspend Russian clubs and national teams after invasion of Ukrain

FIFA and UEFA on Monday announced the suspensions of Russia and Russian club teams, saying football is in full solidarity and in full solidarity with all those affected in Ukraine.

World and European football governing bodies said they would be banned "until further notice".

"Football is in complete solidarity here and in full solidarity with all those affected in Ukraine," FIFA and UEFA said in a joint statement.

"Both Presidents hope that the situation in Ukraine will improve significantly and rapidly so that football can again become a vector for unity and peace among peoples."
