Facing the Reality: Acknowledging the Sexualization of Female Fighters.

Dakota Ditcheva acknowledges that the sexualization of female fighters is something she has to come to terms with and accept.

The 25-year-old flyweight Dakota Ditcheva is making waves in British MMA with an impressive record of 10 finishes in 11 fights. She's set to fight at PFL 4 in Connecticut this Thursday.

While some of Ditcheva's social media videos have millions of views, her most-watched video is of her weighing in before a fight. Traditionally, fighters, both male and female, weigh in wearing only their underwear.

"It's something you have to accept for now. It's been this way for a while, so hopefully, it'll change in the future," Ditcheva commented.

"The video that went most viral on my Instagram isn't really reflective of who I am. It's unfortunate that those kinds of things get the most attention when building a brand and career, not just through fighting but outside of it."

Ditcheva's perspective sheds light on the challenges female fighters face regarding how they are perceived and promoted in the industry.
