Ex-South Africa rugby star and Springbok legend, Hannes Strydom tragically passed away following a car incident.
This devastating incident marks the fifth loss from the renowned 1995 Springboks, who famously united a divided nation by winning the World Cup.
Strydom's passing joins the untimely deaths of other teammates, adding a somber note to the collective memory of these rugby legends who played a crucial role in shaping the sport's history.
Strydom was a pharmacist by trade and played 21 tests between 1993 and 1997.
He started the 1995 final where the home side defeated New Zealand 15-12 to take the crown in front of a beaming Nelson Mandela at Ellis Park.
