Evans Follows Marathon Victory with Strong Second-Round Win.

Britain's Dan Evans followed his marathon first-round match at the US Open with a straight-set win against Argentina's Mariano Navone.

Dan Evans, who played the longest match in US Open history on Tuesday, followed it up with a solid 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 win over Argentina's Mariano Navone to reach the third round. 

The 34-year-old secured the victory just 48 hours after his five-hour, 35-minute battle against Russia's Karen Khachanov.

Earlier in the day, British women's number one Katie Boulter lost 7-5, 7-5 to Spain's Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, despite a strong start. 

Meanwhile, British men's number one Jack Draper advanced comfortably to the third round with a 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 win over Facundo Diaz Acosta.
