Samuel Eto’o, president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot), has received a six-month ban from attending any international matches involving Cameroon, as decided by a FIFA disciplinary panel.
The former Barcelona and Chelsea striker was penalized for violating two articles of FIFA's disciplinary code.
The ban stems from the Under-20 Women’s World Cup round of 16 match between Cameroon and Brazil on September 11, which Brazil won 3-1 after extra time.
FIFA stated that breaches occurred regarding offensive behavior and violations of fair play principles, as well as misconduct by players and officials during the match in Bogotá, Colombia, which Eto'o attended.
