Eriksson, Former England Manager, Passed Away at 76.

Sven-Goran Eriksson, the former England manager, has passed away at the age of 76.

Sven-Goran Eriksson, the first non-British manager of the England team, led the Three Lions to the quarter-finals in three major tournaments during his five-year tenure from 2001 to 2006.

In January, Eriksson revealed he had “at best” a year to live following a cancer diagnosis. His family announced on Monday that he passed away at home, surrounded by family, after a long illness.

The Swedish manager had a notable career, leading 12 clubs including Manchester City, Leicester, Roma, and Lazio, and winning 18 trophies. He also managed teams such as Mexico, Ivory Coast, and the Philippines.

After retiring from playing at 27, Eriksson began his managerial career with Degerfors in 1977 and later joined Gothenburg, where he won the Swedish title, two Swedish cups, and the 1982 UEFA Cup.
