England's weightlifters Sarah Davies and Chris Murray bagged gold in women's 71kg and men's 81 kg category.

England claimed two gold medals in the Weightlifting as Sarah Davies wins the women's 71kg and Chris Murray claims victory in the men's 81kg category at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Murray won gold in the men's 81kg Weightlifting with a new Commonwealth Games record after Australia's Kyle Bruce and Canadian Nicolas Vachon failed to overtake him in dramatic circumstances.

The four-time British champion, Murray lifted 181kg in the clear and jerk and his new Games record of 325kg proved a winning total.

On the other end England's Sarah Davies triumphed within the women's 71kg weightlifting category. Sarah won the gold medal with a total lift of 229 kg.

On her way to the gold medal, Davies also broke the Commonwealth Games record.
