England's Laura Kenny bagged commonwealth gold in track cycling scratch race.

England's Laura Kenny produced a magnificent performance and bagged her second Commonwealth Games gold medal of her career, after winning the women's 10km scratch race at Lee Valley Velopark.

The victory marked the breakthrough she had been searching for after a difficult week, which had yielded only a bronze medal in the team pursuit.

This is Kenny's first Commonwealth title since 2014 as well as England's first cycling gold of the Birmingham Games.

A late burst of speed saw Kenny sweeping past Great Britain's team-mate Neah Evans and then hold off New Zealand's Michaela Drummond and finally Canada's Maggie Coles-Lyster at the final moment which awarded her a dramatic win.

New Zealand's Michaela Drummond holds the silver medal while Canada's Maggie Coles-Lyster finished in the third position.
