England’s Jones Out of Internationals and WXV.

Megan Jones will miss England's September internationals and the WXV tournament due to a serious ankle injury that requires surgery.

The 27-year-old centre Megan Jones, who played for Team GB in the women’s rugby sevens at the Paris Olympics where they finished seventh, will miss England’s September fixtures and the WXV tournament due to a significant ankle injury requiring surgery.

England will face France at Kingsholm Stadium on September 7 and New Zealand at Twickenham the following week before traveling to Canada for their WXV opener against the USA on September 29.

Head coach John Mitchell expressed disappointment at losing Jones, noting her impact on the team’s personality, capability, and leadership. He wished her a speedy recovery and looks forward to her return for next year’s Six Nations.

The WXV, launched by World Rugby in 2023, runs from September 27 to October 13 this year, providing regular fixtures for teams outside World Cup years.
