England's Geva Mentor confirmed to retire from international netball after this summer's World Cup.

England's Netball legend Geva Mentor has officially announced to retire from international netball following the conclusion of the Vitality Netball World Cup in South Africa this summer.

Geva Mentor's place in the Vitality Roses Netball World Cup squad was confirmed earlier this week, and her appearance in this summer's tournament is now set to be her last for England as she hangs up her red dress after two decades on the court as one of the nation's longest-serving players.

The 38-year-old goalkeeper has won 167 caps since making her debut as a 16-year-old back in 2001.

She was part of the team that won a historic gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Mentor has played in 11 major tournaments, winning five bronze medals plus England's first Commonwealth title.

Last summer Mentor, who has been playing her club netball in Australia since 2008, became the first England player to compete in a sixth Commonwealth Games.

The World Cup will take place from July 28 to August 6 in Cape Town, South Africa.
