England beat New Zealand by five wickets in the opening Test at Lord's to give the hosts a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
England's batsman, Joe Root was the highlight of the match against New Zealand. He had scored a magnificent century and helped the English team to win over New Zealand.
By Scoring the superb ton he also joined the 10,000 runs club, becoming the joint-youngest along with Alastair Cook to do so. After observing Joe's performance every Englishman poured words with praises.
Mark Taylor, former Australia captain expresses his views for Joe Root. He commented that Joe Root has the ability and passion to break Sachin Tendulkar's all-time record of 15,921 runs in Test cricket.
"Root has minimum five years left in him, so I think Tendulkar's record is very achievable," Mark Taylor told to media.
"Root is batting as well as I have ever seen him bat over the last 18 months to 2 years. He is in the peak of his career, so there is a probability to score 15,000 runs-plus by him if he stays healthy," added to his comment by the former Australian skipper.
