England captain Jos Buttler is out of the three-match T20 series against Australia and may also miss the five upcoming ODIs.
Jos Buttler, 33, has been sidelined since June due to a calf injury and will miss the T20 series against Australia.
Phil Salt will lead England in his absence, while Harry Brook is expected to step up for the ODIs if needed. The T20 series kicks off Wednesday in Southampton, with ODIs starting on September 19.
This is England’s first white-ball series since their T20 World Cup semi-final loss.
Interim coach Marcus Trescothick will oversee the team, while Brendon McCullum, England’s Test coach, will take on white-ball duties starting in January.
