England Kicks Off WXV1 Title Defense with Dominant Nine-Try Victory Over USA.

Bo Westcombe-Evans marked her debut with a try as England opened their WXV1 title defense with a commanding nine-try win over the United States in Canada.

Despite a sluggish start, the Red Roses notched four tries in the first half, highlighted by a stunning solo effort from full-back Ellie Kildunne, who scored twice. This victory extended John Mitchell’s team’s winning streak to 18 games as they aim to build momentum for next summer’s home World Cup.

Hooker Lark Atkin-Davies kicked off the scoring, followed by Kildunne’s brilliant try.

Alev Kelter put the USA on the board, but flanker Georgia Brock, making her first start for the Red Roses, added a third try. Alex Matthews, in her debut as England captain, scored the fourth.

The second half saw Kelter score again, but young winger Bo Westcombe-Evans responded quickly with a sharp finish in the corner.

The USA’s captain, Kate Zackary, managed to score her team’s third try, but England sealed the match with late tries from Morwenna Talling, Jess Breach, Kildunne, and substitute Ella Wyrwas.
