Posted 2 years agoEvent favorites England displayed their strong start to the World Cup by defeating France by 13-7 in the Women's Rugby World Cup in Whangarei, New Zealand.
Emily Scarratt scored the opening try and added a penalty either side of half-time before France went over through Gaelle Hermet to force a nervy finish.
Captain Sarah Hunter turned England's joint most-capped participant as she made her 137th worldwide look.
With the incredible win England qualify for the quarterfinals as Pool C winners.
