Michael Dunlop claimed victory in the opening Supersport race at the Isle of Man TT, matching his uncle Joey's all-time record of 26 wins at the event.
Dunlop sped through four laps of the Mountain Course to match the 24-year-old record. The 35-year-old fought hard for his victory, overtaking early leader Dean Harrison and fending off a strong challenge from Davey Todd to win by 8.5 seconds, with Harrison finishing third.
The Northern Irishman has now won five consecutive Supersport races at the TT, achieving doubles in 2022 and 2023 on his Yamaha. His record for middleweight class wins now stands at 12.
Dunlop has seven more chances to surpass Joey's total as he competes in the remaining solo races this week.
"It's fantastic. Equalling Joey's record has been on my mind, and everyone else's, all week," Dunlop said after his historic win. "Everyone wanted to reach that record, and now I've done it. It's something special."
