Duncan Scott expressed excitement for this summer's Olympics, calling it "pretty special." He earned a shot at gold by winning the British title in the 200m medley.
Duncan Scott outpaced his rival Tom Dean and clocked an impressive time of one minute and 55.91 seconds, beating the qualification mark, to win the 200m medley British title.
Having secured an Olympic silver in the same event in 2021, Scott is now eyeing gold in Paris, where he'll face strong competition from Dean and the formidable French swimmer Leon Marchand.
Scott, who already has six Olympic medals but no individual gold yet, emphasized the tough competition in the event. His recent performance, which marked the second-fastest time of his career, showcased his form, following his silver in the 100m freestyle earlier.
Dean, the Olympic champion in the 200m freestyle, also qualified with a time just behind Scott's, securing his spot in Paris and keeping his hopes alive for a record five medals.
Last year's World Championships saw Scott taking silver and Dean bronze, trailing Marchand, who has been setting medley records, including Michael Phelps' 400m world record.
