Due to covid policies, the Chinese GP may be cancelled for the time being.

Formula 1's bumper 24-race is looking forward to return to the Chinese Grand Prix after 3 seasons away from the track, but due to the country's new 'zero-COVID' policy the upcoming Chinese GP may be cancelled for the time being.

Earlier, as the Covid virus swept the globe in 2020, the Chinese Grand Prix was the first to be postponed but later on it was cancelled. As the pandemic period carried on the schedules for 2021 and 2022 had to be cancelled.

The F1 organizers found a spot on the 2023 calendar but it has been extended its contract to host a grand prix through to 2025.

But it seems the 2023 race, scheduled to be round four of the calendar in mid-April, is under threat due to the country's new  'zero-Covid' policy.
