Draper Carries the Torch Passed by Murray.

Jack Draper has often been viewed as the natural heir to Andy Murray's throne in British tennis.

In the first major tournament since Andy Murray's retirement, Jack Draper is making his mark, reaching the US Open quarter-finals for the first time in his career.

The 22-year-old left-hander is the first British man to reach this stage since Murray in 2016, signaling that he's ready to carry on his idol's legacy.

"The baton from Murray has been passed, and now I'm running with it," Draper said.

Ranked 25th in the world, he acknowledges there's still room for growth as he prepares to face Australia's Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Draper's commanding win over Czech player Tomas Machac in the fourth round shows he's serious about taking his game to the next level.
