Djokovic Kicks Off Record 25th Major Quest with Opening Win.

Novak Djokovic launched his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam singles title with an easy first-round victory over Radu Albot at the US Open.

One more major title would give Djokovic the sole record for the most Grand Slam singles titles, as he is currently tied with Margaret Court at 24.

The 37-year-old won 6-2 6-2 6-4 in his first match since securing Olympic gold 23 days ago. Djokovic, who has claimed nearly every tennis title, called his Paris victory the "biggest sporting achievement" of his career.

Despite his success, he is still looking for his first Grand Slam win of the year, having won at least one major each year since 2017.

Before the match, Djokovic joked about wanting to "avenge" his younger brothers, Djordje and Marko, who had both lost to Moldova's Albot in the past.
