Dillian Whyte challenged Anthony Joshua for a rematch this summer.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has officially revealed that he has made an offer to Dillian Whyte (29-3, 19 KOs) for a rematch with Anthony Joshua (25-3, 22 KOs) this summer.

Anthony Joshua has had an eventful weekend in terms of his comments about what's next for him in the second half of 2023, where one of his options is to once again fight Dillian Whyte.

This is, at least, according to his promoter, Eddie Hearn, who believes that it is on the table alongside a long-awaited meeting with Deontay Wilder.

Whyte has been earmarked as the second opponent for AJ's career rebuild, which began in April with a scrappy points win over Jermaine Franklin.

It didn't take long for Whyte to get wind of Joshua's expletive denial of a rematch being in the pipeline, which he responded to in blistering fashion.

Whyte won the pair's first showdown but came up short in their professional meeting six years later, suffering a brutal seventh-round TKO loss.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua plans to return to the ring in August ahead of a mouthwatering Saudi showdown with Deontay Wilder in December.
