Danielle Collins Surges into Wimbledon Semifinals.

Wimbledon semifinalist Donna Vekic revealed that just over a month ago, she "didn't want to play tennis." Now, she's savoring the greatest Grand Slam performance of her career.

Croatia's Donna Vekic, 28, advanced to the Wimbledon semifinals by defeating New Zealand qualifier Lulu Sun 5-7, 6-4, 6-1.

Known for her powerful style of play, Vekic now prepares to face Italian seventh seed Jasmine Paolini, who secured a 6-2, 6-1 victory over American 19th seed Emma Navarro, in the next round with a spot in the Wimbledon final at stake.

Vekic has battled injuries and recently admitted contemplating quitting tennis before the French Open in May.

"After giving my all and not seeing the results I expected, I felt drained and lacked motivation," said Vekic, currently ranked 37th in the world. "It was a very challenging time."

In a dramatic match under Court One's roof, Vekic rallied against Sun, continuing her remarkable resurgence and strong form on the grass courts.
