Cricket World Cup 2023: India continued their winning streak by defeating the Netherlands to complete perfect group stage.

India beat the Netherlands by 160 runs on Sunday to finish undefeated in their nine matches in the league stage at the World Cup.

Batting first, the hosts produced a solid batting display to post a mammoth 410 for four with Iyer (128 not out off 94 balls) slamming a career-best ODI ton, while KL Rahul (102 off 64 balls) hit the fastest World Cup hundred by an Indian.

The duo added 208 runs off 128 balls. Rohit Sharma (61), Virat Kohli (51) and Shubman Gill (51) also scored sizzling fifties.

In reply, the Netherlands, gave a better display against a fancied Indian attack compared to some of the earlier opposition teams, as they were bowled out for 250 in 47.5 overs.

Apart from Teja Nidamanuru (54), no other player could cross 50 runs. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored 45 runs, Colin Ackermann scored 35 and Max O'Dowd hit 30 runs. All the other batters scored less than 20 runs.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja all chipped in with a couple of wickets each.

Interestingly, after years, both Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma bowled and picked one wicket each.

Shreyas Iyer became the ‘Player of the Match’ for scoring 128 in 94 balls.

India will now play New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday. Australia and South Africa clash in the second semis the next day.
