Craig Faces Year-Long Ban Following Cocaine Arrest Scandal.

Tom Craig from Australia has been banned from hockey for 12 months after being arrested for allegedly buying cocaine at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Tom Craig must serve a 12-month ban, with six months suspended if he meets conduct and behavior requirements.
The ban started on 9 September, and he’ll be eligible for the 2025 national men’s squad, to be announced later this year.

Craig was detained by French police for allegedly attempting to buy cocaine after Australia’s quarter-final loss in Paris. Though released without charges, he received a warning from a judge.

Hockey Australia stated Craig must complete mandatory training and education during his suspension, with athlete support services available to him.

Craig admitted to making a "terrible mistake" and apologized to his family, friends, teammates, and Australia's Olympic team.
