Comeback on the Horizon: Murray Set for Return from Injury Next Week.

Andy Murray has decided to return sooner than expected following an ankle injury. He's gearing up to compete in an ATP Challenger event taking place in Bordeaux next week.

The 36-year-old British tennis star, Andy Murray, has accelerated his return to the court following an ankle injury sustained at the Miami Open in late March.

Expected to retire this season, Murray has his sights set on the French Open, commencing on May 26th, which is likely to mark his final appearance at the event.

A three-time Grand Slam champion, Murray intends to participate in both the singles and doubles events at Roland Garros, partnering with fellow Briton Dan Evans in the latter. He kicks off his comeback on the clay courts of Bordeaux before heading to the Geneva Open, where he has received a wildcard entry.

Despite the option of surgery to hasten his recovery, Murray opted against it to ensure his chances of playing at the French Open, Wimbledon, and the Paris Olympics this summer.

Turning 37 on May 15th, Murray plans to wrap up his career after this season, though he has not revealed where his farewell tournament will be.
