World Athletics President Lord Coe is one of seven confirmed candidates vying to replace Thomas Bach as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) president.
Thomas Bach announced last month at the Paris Olympics that he will step down at the end of his second term next year.
Lord Coe, the two-time Olympic 1500m champion from Britain, is competing with six other candidates: Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr. from Spain, David Lappartient from France, Kirsty Coventry from Zimbabwe, Morinari Watanabe from Japan, Johan Eliasch from Sweden, and Prince Feisal al Hussein from Jordan.
Coventry, a seven-time Olympic swimming medallist, aims to become the first woman and African to lead the IOC.
The new IOC president will be elected during a session in ancient Olympia from March 18-21, 2025, and will begin their term in June of that year.
