Sven-Goran Eriksson, who has passed away at 76, is most remembered as England’s first foreign manager. He led the team during the era of the ‘Golden Generation’.

Sven-Goran Eriksson’s colorful private life and his time as England manager included notable moments such as dealing with the infamous tabloid 'Fake Sheikh' and flirting with Chelsea and Manchester United.

Despite these distractions, Eriksson enjoyed significant success as a club manager across Europe before taking over from Kevin Keegan in November 2000. His tenure with England is often seen as underwhelming, given the talent he had at his disposal.

At his peak, Eriksson was one of the top coaches, regularly winning domestic and European titles. However, his time with England didn’t replicate that success.

Nevertheless, Eriksson will always be remembered for the unforgettable 5-1 victory over Germany in a World Cup qualifier at Munich’s Olympic Stadium in September 2001.
