Chadwick Creates History with Indy NXT Victory for Britain.

Jamie Chadwick from Britain has made history by becoming the first female driver to win a race on a road or street circuit in IndyCar's feeder series.

At the Road America circuit on Sunday, 26-year-old Jamie Chadwick took her pole position all the way to the checkered flag, winning the Indy NXT race.

Chadwick, who previously triumphed three times in the W Series, joined the Andretti Global team in 2023, marking a significant step in her racing career. "Honestly, [I'm] feeling a bit emotional," said the Williams Formula 1 development driver after her victory.

Her win was particularly significant as it marked the first victory by a female driver in the series since Pippa Mann's triumph at the Kentucky Speedway in 2010. "We've had an incredible car this year and just couldn't capitalize on it until now, so I'm thrilled we held on," Chadwick added.

She finished ahead of her teammate and fellow Briton Louis Foster by eight-tenths of a second, with series leader Jacob Abel claiming third place.
