Carlos Sainz Secures 4th Dakar Rally Title in Saudi Arabia at the age of 61.

Carlos Sainz clinched his fourth Dakar Rally title by securing a triumphant victory in Saudi Arabia.

Carlos Sainz, at 61, secured his fourth Dakar Rally victory, setting a record as the oldest winner. He finished over an hour ahead of Guillaume de Mevius in the 46th edition of the race.

Sainz took the lead from the sixth stage and led consistently, crossing the finish line in Yanbu, on the Red Sea coast, without winning any of the 12 stages outright.

This victory is notable for Audi, marking their first win in the Dakar Rally. Sainz's previous triumphs were with different manufacturers – Mini, Volkswagen, and Peugeot.

The Dakar Rally, known for its challenging nature, began in 1979 and has been held in Saudi Arabia since 2020. Nasser Al Attiyah and Stephane Peterhansel are among the multiple-time winners of the race.

In the motorbike section, American Ricky Brabec secured the title for Honda, marking his second career Dakar Rally win.
