World number one Carlos Alcaraz suffered a shock third-round defeat in the Italian Open at the hands of qualifier Hungarian Fabian Marozsan.
Hungarian qualifier and World No 135 Fabian Marozsa ended Carlos Alcaraz's 12-match winning streak by defeating him by 6-3 7-6 (7-4) in the third-round clash in Rome.
Marozsan had never played in the main draw of an ATP event or beaten a top-100 player prior to arriving in the Italian capital but now finds himself in the last 16 after snapping Alcaraz's 12-match winning streak.
In the next round, Fabian Marozsan will play against Croatia's Borna Coric.
