Burnley F.C has clinched an instant promotion to the Premier League under Vincent Kompany after a dominating 2-1 win over Middlesbrough, a feat no other team in second-tier history has ever achieved.
The Burnleys', who dropped out of the top-flight last term, have flourished under the guidance of Kompany, who took over at Turf Moor in the summer.
Ashley Barnes delivered an early lead to his side, Burnley, through a magnificent goal in the 12th minute of the game. But just after the half time Middlesbrough bounced back heavily and equalized the score by 1-1 through Championship top scorer Chuba Akpom.
As the game progressed, Burnley took control of the game, and in the 66th minute, Connor Roberts kicked the winning goal for his team through an assist from his fellow mate Nathan Tella.
Nobody has clinched promotion with more games to spare than the Burnleys' since the Championship rebranded and all eyes will now be on Kompany and the squad ahead of the 2023-24 Premier League campaign.
