Ross Thompson's accurate kicking couldn't prevent Edinburgh from suffering their second defeat of the season, as the Bulls battled to a hard-fought win in Pretoria.
Edinburgh started strong under the hot South African sun, with Ross Thompson slotting an early penalty to put them ahead.
However, the Bulls quickly responded. Jannes Kirsten broke through the Edinburgh defense for a try, followed shortly by Jaco van der Walt, who scored against his former team after a lapse in Edinburgh’s defense.
As halftime neared, Edinburgh reduced the gap to two points with a well-executed maul from a line-out, and Thompson added the conversion from a tough angle.
Despite the Bulls being down to 14 men after Simphiwe Matanzima's yellow card, Edinburgh’s focus slipped again.
Canan Moodie exploited more poor defending to score, and Boeta Chamberlain added the conversion to restore the Bulls' lead.
