Brighton Activate £40M Release Clause to Secure Rutter.

Brighton have triggered the £40m release clause to sign Leeds United forward Georginio Rutter.

Brighton have faced multiple rejections in their pursuit of Georginio Rutter, but after triggering his £40m release clause, the decision now rests with the 22-year-old forward.

Rutter featured in the second half of Leeds' 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Middlesbrough on Wednesday. Brighton is reportedly the only club to have activated the clause before the Thursday deadline.

Leeds are keen to keep Rutter, especially after selling Archie Gray to Tottenham and Crysencio Summerville to West Ham this summer.

The French attacker, who joined Leeds from Hoffenheim in January 2023 for a potential £35m, still has four years remaining on his contract.
