Brighton has recently revealed a remarkable achievement, announcing a record profit of £122.8 million for the financial year 2022-23. This significant milestone marks the most successful season financially in the history of the Premier League club.
Brighton's profit after tax saw a substantial annual increase, rising by nearly £100 million from £24.1 million to a significant £122.8 million, while turnover surged by 17.2% to an all-time high of £204.5 million.
The club's impressive financial results were buoyed by their successful sixth-place finish in the Premier League during the 2022-23 season, their advancement to the FA Cup semi-finals, and substantial earnings from key player transfers.
Brighton's chief executive, Paul Barber, emphasized that these financial gains will facilitate further progress on the field. He noted that these accounts reflect a significant step towards the club's goal of achieving sustainability and reducing reliance on owner Tony Bloom's substantial investments.
The club also made a substantial repayment to Bloom for the first time, reducing the balance on his interest-free loans from £406.5 million to £373.3 million, signaling a positive financial trajectory for Brighton.
