Bouwmeester: The Most Decorated Female Sailor in Olympic History.

Marit Bouwmeester from the Netherlands has made history as the most decorated female Olympic sailor by winning gold in the dinghy event.

Marit Bouwmeester has surpassed Britain's Hannah Mills to become the most decorated female Olympic sailor. Mills won three Olympic medals (two gold and one silver) between 2012 and 2020.

Denmark's Anne-Marie Rindom won silver in Marseille, while Norway's Line Flem Hoest took bronze.

Bouwmeester, who previously won silver at London 2012, gold at Rio 2016, and bronze at Tokyo 2020, expressed her joy: 'It's nice to finally finish it off – it hasn't sunk in yet. I have so much respect for Line and Anne-Marie; we push each other all the way.'

In the men's dinghy event, Australia's Matt Wearn secured his second consecutive gold medal, following his Tokyo win.

Pavlos Kontides of Cyprus earned his second silver, and Peru's Stefano Peschiera claimed bronze despite several penalties in the final.
