Bittner Edges Out Van Aert to Claim Vuelta Stage Five Victory.

Czech cyclist Pavel Bittner narrowly defeated Wout van Aert in a photo finish to win stage five of the Vuelta a España in Seville.

DSM-Firmenich-PostNL's Pavel Bittner caught up with Wout van Aert, who had started his sprint early, and narrowly edged him at the line to win stage five. Australia's Kaden Groves finished third.

This is 21-year-old Bittner's first Grand Tour stage win. Primoz Roglic kept the race leader's red jersey by finishing with the main group after the 177km flat stage from Fuente del Maestre.

Though Van Aert missed out on his second stage win of the race, he remains in the lead for the green points jersey.
