Bethany Firth clinch NI's first commonwealth gold while Scott and Proud also added medals in their collection.

Bethany Firth claimed Northern Ireland's first gold medal of Birmingham 2022 with a victory in the women's 200m freestyle S14.

Six-time Paralympic champion Firth completed the track in time of 2:07.02 which was enough to beat Jessica-Jane Applegate of England.

In the men's 200-metre individual medley, Scotland's Duncan Scott defeated England's Ben Proud to secure his gold medal in this event.

Scott flashed his strength and stamina in the second half of the race to touch the wall in 1min 56.88sec for a new Games record while Tom Dean finished it in 1:57.01.

In the men's 50m freestyle event, Ben Proud finished with the commonwealth gold in a time of 21.36sec.

Lewis Edward Burras bagged the silver while Joshua Liendo Edwards took bronze for Canada.
