Skipper Andy Balbirnie's brilliant 95, Lorcan Tucker, and Paul Stirling's fifties lead Ireland to post 300 on the opening day of the second Test match in Galle.

Ireland scored 319-4 in the 1st inning in 90 overs at stumps - with top scorer Andy Balbirnie (95 off 163-balls) who fell five-run short of his century - including 14-fours.

Lorcan Tucker knocked an unbeaten 78 off 102 balls including 10 fours while Paul Stirling retired hurt for 74 off 133 balls including 6 fours & 3 sixes.

For Sri Lanka, Prabath Jayasuriya scalped 2-wickets while Asitha Fernando and Ramesh Mendis took one wicket each.
