In a surprising turn of events, top-ranked player Iga Swiatek has been eliminated from the Australian Open.
The upset came in the third round when 19-year-old Czech player Linda Noskova delivered a stunning performance.
Noskova staged a comeback against world number one Swiatek, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 at Rod Laver Arena.
Noskova, ranked 50th, reached her first major fourth round and expressed joy, calling the match amazing.
It was her first time in the main draw in Melbourne, having lost in qualifying as an 18-year-old the previous year.
She made her debut on the tournament's main show court against Swiatek, who struggled with forehand errors.
Noskova fell to the floor in disbelief after converting her first match point in the tight third set, marking a significant and emotional victory for the rising tennis player.
