Australian Hockey Star Arrested in Paris Cocaine Scandal.

An Australian hockey player has been arrested in Paris for allegedly purchasing cocaine and is now in custody.

The Paris prosecutor's office reported that an Australian hockey player was arrested on Tuesday night in the ninth arrondissement for allegedly buying cocaine.

The Australia Olympic Committee (AOC) has not named the player or specified the offense, noting that no charges have been filed yet.

Media reports have identified the player as Tom Craig, a 28-year-old Olympic silver medallist from Tokyo 2020, though this has not been verified by the BBC.

The prosecutor's office told the BBC that police witnessed a cocaine transaction and apprehended both the seller and the buyer, who is said to be a member of the Australian field hockey team.
