Australian Coach Under Fire for Supporting Korean Kim.

Australian Olympic swimming coach Michael Palfrey has faced criticism from team officials after expressing hope that South Korean swimmer Kim Woo-min will win the 400m freestyle gold at the Paris Olympics, beating his Australian competitors.

Palfrey, who coaches both the Australian team and South Korean swimmer Kim Woo-min, has been criticized by the Australian Olympic Committee for a “serious error of judgment.”

Australian swimmers Sam Short and Elijah Winnington, alongside reigning world champion Kim, are strong contenders for the 400m freestyle gold.

In a recent interview with South Korean media, Palfrey commented, “There will be three or four of them in the race that think they can win it,” sparking controversy over his dual roles and remarks.
