Audi looking forward to signing up with Sauber to enter Formula 1 from the 2026 season.

Audi has officially announced, Swiss-based Sauber Motorsports as its "strategic partner" for its entry to Formula 1 in 2026.

Sauber has also confirmed that Audi will buy a stake in the company, although no details on the timing of the purchase or the size of the shareholding have been given.

Sauber currently races under the Alfa Romeo banner, but that partnership is set to conclude by end-2023, paving the way for the team’s new chapter with Audi.

Audi will enter F1 in 2026 to coincide with the introduction of new power unit regulations. Sauber will continue to use Ferrari power until then, the team confirmed.

Both parties have worked together in the past as well. Audi has regularly used Sauber's wind tunnel in Hinwil during its Le Mans era and during the development of DTM's Class 1 touring car.
