Atletico Seals £81.5m Deal for Man City's Alvarez.

Atletico Madrid has clinched an £81.5m deal to bring Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez to their squad. The transfer marks a major move for Atletico as they boost their attacking options with the talented 24-year-old, who has impressed with his dynamic play and scoring ability.

The transfer fee for Julian Alvarez is £64.4m, with an additional £17.1m in potential bonuses. This deal would set a record for Manchester City, surpassing the £50m Chelsea paid for Raheem Sterling in 2022.

Alvarez had previously stated he would decide on his future after Argentina’s 2024 Olympics campaign, but the team was recently eliminated by France.

Manager Pep Guardiola had expressed his intention to keep Alvarez, saying he relied on him for the season. However, as with past departures like Ilkay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez, City won’t block a player who wishes to leave.

Atletico Madrid, who have also secured a deal for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, are still working on finalizing personal terms with Alvarez.
