Aston Martin has signed Formula E champion Stoffel Vandoorne as their test and reserve driver.

Aston Martin's team boss Mike Krack has officially announced the appointment of Formula E champion Stoffel Vandoorne as their test and reserve driver for the 2023 F1 season.

Mike Krack believes that the appointment of Stoffel Vandoorne as a test and reserve driver at Aston Martin will greatly benefit the team.

It's being revealed that Vandoorne will join the squad in his new role for the 2023 season and will share responsibilities at Aston Martin with FIA Formula 2 champion Felipe Drugovich across the 24-race F1 calendar.

Vandoorne's move to Aston Martin will also see him renew a working relationship with Fernando Alonso, with the pair having been teammates at McLaren from 2016 to 2018.
