Argentina clinched the Olympic bronze in women's hockey by defeating Belgium in a shootout.
After a 2-2 draw, Sofia Cairo scored the decisive goal to give Argentina a 3-1 victory in the shootout, earning them their sixth medal in the last seven Games.
Belgium, competing in only their second Olympics, were heartbroken at the end, while Argentina celebrated passionately, thanks to goalkeeper Cristina Cosentino's three crucial shootout saves.
Belgium initially led with a goal from Emma Puvrez, but Agustina Gorzelany equalized for Argentina in the second quarter.
Agustina Albertarrio then put Argentina ahead, but Justine Rasir leveled the score again. Belgium’s defense held strong until the end of regular time.
In the gold medal match at 18:00 BST, the Netherlands will face China in their sixth consecutive Olympic final.
