Anthony Gordon's Late Penalty Secures Draw for Newcastle Against Manchester City.

Anthony Gordon scored a second-half penalty to help Newcastle secure a point in a draw against Manchester City at St. James' Park.

City defender Josko Gvardiol put the visitors ahead in the 35th minute, finishing neatly after receiving a lay-off from Jack Grealish.

Despite Mateo Kovacic and Rico Lewis stepping up in place of the injured Rodri, who is out for the season, City struggled to maintain their lead during Newcastle's strongest moment right after halftime.

Bruno Guimaraes made a brilliant pass through the City defense, and Kyle Walker inadvertently kept Anthony Gordon onside.

Gordon was brought down by Ederson, who received a yellow card for the challenge. Gordon then calmly converted the penalty, sending Ederson the wrong way.

City could have been ahead by more at halftime, but Ilkay Gundogan missed a golden opportunity to chip the ball into the net after Newcastle keeper Nick Pope made an error, handing City the ball far from his goal.
